Top 5 BookTubers

When I am not reading or writing about books, I listen to BookTubers talk about books. I find that when I am in a reading slump or need a break, listening to other people ramble on about books is just the thing I need to put my mind at ease. I don’t know about you, but I spend way too much time on YouTube, and through my rabbit hole escapades, I have come up with a list of my Top 5 favorite BookTubers. I highly recommend subscribing to these remarkable individuals.

1.      1. Emmie

Emmie is a wonderful person and reader while pursuing her degree in classical literature. She is always showing some of the most awesome classical reads that I have never heard of. If I purchase a new classic book, it is generally because Emmie made me do it. I love her vlogs, where she shares her filming, school, and reading life. Emmie’s voice is so soothing, and anytime I feel like I am going to have a panic attack, I directly go to her videos to calm and settle my mind.

Also, I am in love with the newest addition to Emmie’s videos, Calcifer!

2.       2. Chantel Reads All Day

Chantel is a Mother of the two cutest kids in the world, wife, and BookTuber. Her content is fantastic, and I immediately want to buy all the books she shows. She highlights many Christian fiction books that I have loved and connected me with one of my favorite series, The Mark of The Ravens by Morgan Busse. Chantel has been working on a new series where she tries to solve an Agatha Christie book, and they are so much fun to follow along with. Her TBR videos are some of my favorites, as her system allows her to mood-read throughout the month without feeling guilty.

3.       3. MelReads

Mel is the newest to me, BookTuber. I love her input on all books and genres. I am loving catching up on lost time with her videos, and I am binge-watching them. Also, I have to say that Mel always looks so glamorous, and her makeup is always on point! My favorite videos of hers are the 24- and 48-hour readathons. The fact that she dedicates that much time two reading that she will skip that much sleep is incredible to me. Her videos are always so much fun!

4.       4. Merphy Napier Vlogs

Merphy was the first BookTuber I found, and she is so much fun to watch; you can tell she loves making these videos and sharing her content. Her video ideas are not matched by anyone. Her bookshelves are beautiful, and I would love to have her shelves. Her My Favorites series is so good, and she does not BS her way through her videos that are all from the heart.

5.       5. Oliviareadsalatte

Olivia has some of the most beautiful reorganization videos, and I want my bookshelves to look like hers went I grow up. She provides genuine reviews and is okay with going against the stream. Her videos draw me closer to reading a thriller (which I don’t read) because she makes the books sound so good. Also, she is not afraid to say she does not like a book or a character; I find this so refreshing for a booktuber to admit they could not finish a book because they did not like the story despite popular draw or good writing. Olivia lets her quirky side show, and I love that about her. Her weekly blogs are so much fun and natural.

I am sure you have heard about some of these BookTubers, but I hope you might have found a new one to add to your subscription list. If you have a favorite BookTuber not on this list, please let me know in the comments; I would love to check them out!

Have a great day!

Top Ten Classic Books I Recommend

Today we are stepping away from history for a minute, because I want to talk about some of my favorite classics. I have always had a special spot in my heart for classic reads ever since I can remember, I loved to curl up with a classic on the front porch and read the summer afternoon away. So I thought I would recommend my top ten classics to read in no particular order.   1. Mansfield Park by Jane Austen  This novel is by far my favorite Jane Austen work, so much so that I name my late cat after the main character Fanny Price. This novel is about an impoverished girl who goes to live with her wealthy family and is treated horribly. During this time, Fanny starts to have feelings for one of her cousins, who has treated her well despite the other family members’ treatment of her. I love this book simply because of the romance between the two cousins. This book also tackles some of the social problems of this time very critically which I find quite brave of Austen. I hig...

June Reading Wrap Up

Since traveling to Europe in June, I could not read as much as I would have liked; but I still completed some great books that I am excited to share with you. I will give a brief description, my rating, and my thoughts about the books I read.  If you want updates on what I am reading, follow me on Goodreads, where I try to keep my shelved books and current reads up to date.  https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/122472933-savanah For June, I was able to read seven books (not too bad, if I say so myself).   The First Book I completed was Reflection by Elizabeth Lim.    This book is one of the Disney twisted retellings that came out in the last few years. I was a little skeptical about this book because I am such a huge Disney fan; however, Lim did not disappoint. In this work, we follow Mulan as she must go to the Underworld to save General Shang's life; she faces many struggles and has help from a few new sidekicks. I highly recommend reading t...

Books I Read for my First Semester at Four Year University.

After transferring from a community college, I found that my reading schedule increased dramatically. In today’s post, I thought I would share the books I read in my first semester at a four-year university. Although the amount of reading I had to do in school increased, the content I was reading became much more helpful. While in community college, the required books were very general and tended not to provide a variety of opinions in most cases. However, most books were supplemented with other articles and self-guided research. I will not show all of the reading material I read through because this would be a very long post, and some classes just gave me bits and pieces of different works. So here are the books I bought and studied in my sophomore-level college class at four-year. In my first semester, I took six classes for 16-credit hours. I took: ·          Health 110 ·          Fir...
