August TBR

It is that time again when I pick my TBR for the month. I will be starting school at the end of the month, so I will be pretty busy getting ready, moving in, and beginning syllabus week. That said, I hope to get through these books before things start getting crazy. So, without further ado, here is my TBR for August in no particular order.   1.        The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien   I feel like I am the only reader who has not read this series. I listened to the Hobbit in 2021 and enjoyed it, but I wish I would have physically read it as I had some problems keeping all of the characters straight. So I am continuing these series in physical format to help me focus on the storyline. This edition’s cover is not ideal but inside are incredible maps which I already love to look through. I am probably most excited about this read.   2.        The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie...

Amazon Prime Day’s Book Haul

With Amazon’s Prime Day, I took advantage of some great deals to collect some books I have been wanting, but I am very proud of myself because I only bought four books. Three of these books are part of a series, and one I found on Goodreads and wanted to check it out. So below are the books I purchased.   Pardonable Lies (A Maisie Dobbs Novel) by Jacqueline Winspear This is the third Maisie Dobbs Novel by Winspear. In this book, Maisie must help a girl convicted of murder find the graves of two World War I veterans. Readers will discover who the liars are and how War can place seeds of deceit. This is a mystery, so I don’t want to read too much into this. Trip to England

In June, I went to Europe with my mom, and Aunt and this post is a continuation of my last travel post. I will have one more post to share about the three countries we visited. With today's post, I will be talking about England, and I have a few pictures to share! Us with a phone booth because why not!  We saw so many cool things while in England as we traveled to London (where we spend most of our time), Bath, Stonehenge, and Nottingham. I think my favorite place to visit was Bath, we stayed in a little bed and breakfast (the Dorian House), and I highly recommend it https://www.dorianhouse.co.uk/ . The whole town is so pretty, and I wish I would have taken more pictures of it but, I was too busy living in the moment.  While we were in London, we saw so many World War II memorials, which was so great for me because this is my favorite time period to study. It was good to see how the UK memorializes people in history, and while looking at all of the memorials, I kept wishing th...
